Membership

Joining our Chapter

Thank you for your interest in joining Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Membership in Jack and Jill of America and Houston Metropolitan’s Chapter is by invitation only, through sponsorship. To become a member, prospective applicants must be sponsored by a current member in good standing with this chapter of Jack and Jill. We encourage interested mothers to connect with members within their local communities to familiarize themselves with specific membership guidelines and procedures.

Active participation is a requirement for all members.

Please note that membership intake is solely at the discretion of each chapter, and securing a sponsor does not guarantee acceptance into the organization. For more information about membership, please contact our Vice President, LaMonika Taylor.

Legacy Membership

Mothers may also join the organization through Legacy status. Legacy status is available to any mother or spouse of a father whose mother graduated in good standing from a chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and who meets other membership criteria. The deadline to file a request for Legacy status is November 15th. Legacy forms can be obtained from our National Office or by contacting the local chapter.

Chapter Boundaries

Jack and Jill membership is typically based on the mother’s zoned geographical region, so ensure you contact the right chapter for your area.

Membership zones

Houston Metropolitan mothers live in Harris County. Our chapter’s boundaries exclude any zip codes which lie outside of the Beltway 8 perimeter. It also includes the portion of the 77079 zip code south of I-10, which is bounded by I-10 to the north, Beltway 8 to the east, and Eldridge Parkway to the west.

Mother Membership

The core of every chapter. The strength of our organization is rooted in its membership. Given the nature of Jack and Jill membership, we are committed to continuously attracting and retaining new members who will contribute to the ongoing vitality and growth of our chapter.

Associates

Associate Mothers, who have successfully completed their tenure as mother members of the chapter, remain an integral part of the chapter’s legacy and our ongoing commitment to the Jack and Jill way. As professional, civic-minded women, they serve as role models, reminding us that raising healthy, successful families is an achievable goal.

Fathers' Auxiliary

The fathers of Houston Metropolitan Chapter are just as engaged as our moms. They handle many behind-the-scenes tasks, and actively participate in group activities. They form a strong support network for all the children, and are committed all year round. The fathers join us for events like Jack and Jill Day, Black Family Day, and community service events.
